T-Mobile Supports First Responders in Emergency Situations

In the event of an accident, a fire, hurricane, tornado and any number of disasters, first responders are on site to offer assistance and care for those we love. First responders – including police, firefighters and EMTs – risk their lives and face harsh conditions in times of disaster. With T-Mobile, they are not alone.

Persistent Communication Solutions by T-Mobile allows first responders to stay connected during emergencies with the same phone they use every day, without having to switch to a different device, even when commercial wireless networks are out of service. It also enables wireless communication where no commercial networks exist – so first responders can stay connected even in the most remote areas. The solution, which is powered by T-Mobile’s Wi-Fi Calling for Government technology, allows voice and data communications on an employee’s device  in areas where macro networks are down, such as during natural disasters. And these are the times when we need communication most.

Persistent Communication Solutions by T-Mobile provides a range of great benefits:

  • Ability to operate quickly on secure, deployable Wi-Fi networks.
  • Ability to access commercial satellite services for back-haul connectivity.
  • A full suite of partner technology services to help emergency response agencies coordinate communication and track responders.
  • Critical personnel and resource tracking presented on a dashboard for use by incident commanders.
  • Integration of most mapping and software devices, and interoperability between Land Mobile Radio, cell and other systems is available.
  • Training and installation help from T-Mobile and its partners.
